Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray Review – Placebo or the Real Deal

Urban Decay De-Slcik Setting Spray : £9 (travel size)
There was a time I used to see this product on every beauty based YouTube channel going and have always wanted to get my hands on it. It’s not particularly hard to get hold of but for some reason every time I wandered into a department store I suddenly became absent minded and walked out without it every time.
Finally I got my mitts on it last month on a shopping excursion with a friend (I also somehow talked her into getting it as well) I had been so curious to see if this product just gave people the placebo effect of thinking their make up was lasting that little bit longer or if it was actually the real deal.
If I wear my make up for more than 3 or 4 hours a day (so basically every day) it begins to slide off my face. I look pink and shiny and all my imperfections are out there to be seen by the lucky public. I have now tested this product out 4 times, both in the daytime and evening to get a realistic review and I am extremely happy to say it has been working!
2 to 3 sprays from arms length onto freshly applied make up adds roughly another 4 hours of staying time. It is a lightweight mist that doesn’t make your face feel sticky or tight. You can’t actually feel it at all once it has settled onto the skin but it still seems to work its magic.
For any oily faced gals out there I would definitely recommend this product. Team it up with a good primer and you should be good to sit in a sauna with a full face of slap (no idea why you would ever do this!)

Le Keux Vintage Salon – Birmingham & Leeds – Perfect for special events

I recently visited the Le Keux vintage salon in Birmingham as part of my sister hen weekend and wanted to do a quick review. We had been looking for something a little different to do during the day when we stumbled across the salon online. It offered a wide range of packages to choose from for a special event or you can just pop in for a manicure or snazzy ‘up do’
We decided to go all out and have the ‘pin up’ photo shoot experience which was full hair, full make up and a vintage outfit of our choosing. The salon was a little smaller than expected and it is a full working salon (so they cant guarantee that someone wont walk in off the street) but it still really lived up to my expectations. The ladies that worked in the salon were friendly and were happy to give us as much free rein as possible. They were more than happy for us to bring our own buck fizz and offered as much tea and coffee as we could possibly ever drink.
Overall it was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone that has a special occasion coming up that doesn’t like the super conventional.

Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce – Boosting Crème and Texturising Spray Review

Charles worthington thick and full 3d boosting crème : £6.99
charles worthington texturising spray : £6.99

After many of my teenage years frying my hair with straighteners to make it poker straight I am a bit lacking in the volume department and will give anything a go to give it a bit of va va voom!
Thick & Full 3D Booting Crème
I have never used a blow dry crème/lotion before but saw this one on the shelves and was intrigued. It claims to have 3D technology that has ‘proven to provide’ 3 times the volume your hair naturally has. It has a thick gel like consistency which smoothes easily through the hair. I would normally avoid putting any products on my roots but I followed the instructions and massaged it into my roots as well as through the mid lengths of my hair. I then blow dried my hair like normal with a round bristle brush and could see the affects almost immediately. After a normal blow dry my hair starts to go limp and loose volume as soon as my hair has cooled but not this time! My hair held in the same way it would after a few sprits of hairspray but without that tacky feeling. My hair was still soft and smooth to touch by looked like something from a L’Oreal advert (well I think it did) I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves full, bouncy locks.
Texturising Spray
I had see this product making the rounds on the blogger circuit and wanted to try it out for myself. The texturising spray is the new must have product that shopper’s want and brands want to create. This product says it will give you ‘red carpet, glamorous styles’ with just a few sprays. You use the product in the same way that you would use a dry shampoo but it doesn’t leave the white powdery residue on your hair, so less rubbing (win!)
A couple of sprays into your roots is all you need, any more and you do run the risk of making your hair look like a birds nest. The lightweight formula means it dries and sets almost immediately so make sure you move quickly. I really liked the undone, just got out of bed volume it gave my hair which will look great in summer however if you like the neat and tidy look this product definitely isn’t for you.

Who doesn’t love a cheeky Boots deal? Yes, once again it’s that time of year when Boots go all out and offer 3 for 2 on all haircare, bodycare and beauty and it would have been rude if me not to take advantage. I have been very tame this time around and only purchased six items that I have been looking at for a while. I will post some reviews once I have given them a whirl.
